Haunting At The Beacon Synopsis Now Available

(Teri Polo)

You might not think of Teri Polo as a terror hottie, but when Haunting at the Beacon bursts out onto the scene, you might just change your mind.  The synopsis has emerged and it doesn’t sound half bad.

After a young couple’s four year old son dies in an accidental drowning, they move to the Beacon Apartments in an effort to put the pieces of their lives back together.  The neighbors are friendly enough, and Paul’s–the husband–teaching career is getting a sorely needed kick start.  But Bryn–the wife–isn’t having quite so good a time, finding herself in a series of running battles with has-been actress Vanessa Carver (Elaine Hendrix joining the terror hottie pool) who’s still acting like she’s an A-lister.  But when Bryn starts seeing phantom children roaming the building, things start to fall apart for her.  And the Beacon will never be the same when Bryn discovers the building’s horrible secret.

I know–it sounds pretty awesome, doesn’t it?  And with at least two terror hotties that we know of involved, this is some fantastic news.  I’m definitely looking forward to this one, and from what I can tell, there’s no reason you shouldn’t be.

Joe Dante’s Back in Horror–And He’s Brought Teri Polo

(Teri Polo)

I know, Teri Polo isn’t exactly the first thing you think of when you think terror hottie, right?  Sure wasn’t MY first pick, not by a long shot!  But considering that she’ll be involved in a Joe Dante movie, I think I can live with it. And she’ll be joined by Haley Bennett, so that’s an extra point in its favor.

It’s called The Hole, and that’s basically what it’s about.  Two brothers find a trapdoor in their basement, and naturally, they open it to see where it leads.  What they find is their worst fears concentrated in one really nasty hole.

Kind of a nifty thought when you think about it, and looking at the new poster that’s emerged for it, it definitely looks like it could pack the scares, especially the kind of scares we expect out of a confirmed Master of Horror like Joe Dante.

They’re only starting shooting in a few weeks (late summer, they said, and even calendar summer only has about five weeks left to it), so it’ll be a while before we get release dates or trailers or anything.  Looking very muchly forward to it, though!
