You know, with a headline like that, I’ve pretty much got to deliver something truly impressive, and thanks to the folks out at the Toronto International Film Festival and terror hottie Vanessa Hudgens, well, I think I can pull it off. It’s called Frozen Ground, and it’s got a lot of surprises.
Based on the true story of Alaskan serial killer Robert Hansen, Frozen Ground follows a man who, on the surface, was a respected family man, but just below the surface lurked a crazed killer. Hansen abducted fully 24 women, flew them into the heart of Alaskan wilderness (of which there is plenty of that in Alaska) and then hunted them for sport. But one got away to tell the tale, and that’s who Vanessa Hudgens will be playing.
Sound exciting? It does, at least to me. But we’ve all seen movies like this that sound great on the surface but promptly blow up in our faces. The question of the day will be whether or not they can manage to pull off the execution. Considering that John Cusack and Nicolas Cage are also involved, well, I’m prepared to believe this one might come off.
It’s still making the festival circuit, so just when it comes out is as yet quite unclear, but when we’ve got a date on this we’ll pass it on!
