Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters Gets Moved A Long Way Back

Bad news for all of us who were looking forward to the release of Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters, featuring Gemma Arterton and Famke Janssen as the primary terror hotties. It seems that there’s now a pretty substantial delay on for this one.

Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters follows the title characters, who after surviving their first encounter with a witch decided that they mean to take care of all witches all around their world. And, better yet, they discover that people will pay to have their witch problems taken care of. But when they encounter a witch that’s significantly more powerful than they expected to find, they’re going to have the fight of their lives on their hands.

And the bad news is that, while this was originally set to hit theaters in March, it’s now been pushed all the way back to 2013. Specifically, January 11, 2013. But the good news is that early word says that, while this one may sound like a remake of The Brothers Grimm, it’s actually a very good title. Current word says that this is a downright doozy, and hopefully it will turn out that well when it actually gets its release very early in 2013.

Byzantium Gives Gemma Arterton Great Front & Center Still

A new still has landed, and if you don’t think Byzantium is a good name for a horror movie, well, you’re about to get your mind changed when you catch the plot–and the terror hotties–involved in Byzantium.

Byzantium is Neil Jordan’s title about a pair of vampire sisters, and as you can see from the pic above, one of those sisters is no less than Gemma Arterton. But these sisters have some secrets…and they’re a lot bigger than their vampirism. On the run, desperate to settle down and get some relief, the sisters are about to do something desperate. But when their past catches up with them, they’re going to be in a worse position than they expected.

Vampire movies and I have generally not gotten along, and this one looks like it will be great for the vampire fans out there. Not my speed, generally, but should be well worth somebody’s time. No word on release dates as yet, so keep it here for the latest.

First Image Lands For Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters 3D

It’s been a good long while since we last heard anything out of Hansel And Gretel: Witch Hunters 3D, and I’m abundantly happy to hear that there’s some fresh news on this one ahead of its release, which is sooner than you might think. The first ever image has released, and frankly, Gemma Arterton is looking very impressive in this one.

Hansel And Gretel: Witch Hunters 3D, featuring Gemma Arterton and Famke Janssen in the terror hottie slots, follows the titular siblings as they’ve grown into their own. Having slain a witch that tried to turn them into dinner, Hansel and Gretel have discovered that they’ve got a talent for killing witches. Thus, they put their skills to work in a bid to make a living. But now, they’ve got a new target that may be the worst thing they’ve seen yet.

Nothing like a little action mixed in with the horror, and while this one sounds like The Brothers Grimm, there’s nothing wrong with the “darker fairy tale” route. Should be fun, but we’ll find out how this turns out when it hits theaters March 6th, 2012.

Neil Jordan’s Byzantium Has a Great Terror Hottie Core

I’ve never been very fond of vampire movies. Entirely too many of them feature angsty vampires that spend entirely too much time brooding about their nature and the relationship of their nature to the rest of nature. And sadly, Byzantium sounds like one of those, but thankfully there will be terror hotties, and that makes most everything better.

Byzantium, featuring Saoirse Ronan and Gemma Arterton on the terror hottie front, follows a mother and daughter who move out to a small town in the UK, where they look to settle in. But they’ve got a secret that they’ve brought with them; they’re vampires. And when the daughter half of the mother-daughter duo meets a young man with leukemia, that’s got the daughter confronting her own mortality…or rather, her lack thereof.

Hopefully it won’t be as brooding and angsty as it sounds, because frankly, this sounds pretty low-end to say the least. This could be good, though; you never know. They’re still in casting, though, so we could get something worthwhile out of it, and it just might. No word yet on release dates, so keep it here for all the latest.

Medusa Shows Up In Clash of the Titans Remake Footage

Well, folks–if you can’t get enough of old-school epic filmmaking, then brace yourselves for what I’m about to lay out on you.

There are a steady stream of newly minted terror hotties in the upcoming remake of Clash of the Titans–try Gemma Arterton, Alexa Davalos and Izabella Miko just for starters!  But we’re not here to just make a quick list, no, no.  We’re here to pass on this interesting newsy bit for you.

Some new footage has emerged from the Clash of the Titans remake, and part of that new footage features no less than the mythical Medusa.  Yep, big scary snakehead that turns people into stone is now available and looking downright surprising.

I have to admit, I’m looking forward to this one to hit, if for no other reason that I haven’t gotten my Greek epic on properly since Gladiator, and if this is anywhere near that good, we should be in for a serious treat.

Can You Believe There’s A Clash Of The Titans Remake?

(Gemma Arterton)

And even better, it’ll feature terror hotties, like Gemma Arterton and Alexa Davalos.  As a further impetus to check this sucker out, it’ll also represent the jump-starting of Liam Neeson’s career, which frankly hadn’t been doing much of anything since he did voice over work for Fallout 3.

The plot on this one, which just started principal photography, looks downright epic with Perseus going forth to save his family from their horrible fate at the hands of Hades.  Perseus, being half god himself, ventures into Hades’ domain to not only recover his family but also stop a plot to seize power from Zeus himself.

See what I mean?  Downright epic.  And with terror hotties afoot to back the play, well, you’ve got a lot of room for a good movie.  I’m looking forward to this one, but with this much plot riding on the execution, it’s either going to be huge or a colossal wreck.
