Lindsay Anderson serves as the terror hottie du jour with Thanksgiving horror release Thankskilling, proving once and for all that, yes, you can make a horror movie out of ANYTHING if you try hard enough.
Thankskilling offers up a real winner of a dish, as a demonic turkey haunts five college kids out for Thanksgiving break.
To which I say, sure, why not? We had killer tomatoes, killer dessert topping…why not a killer main course for a change? In fact, I’m doubly in favor of this one because we’ve got Halloween horror by the truckload, Christmas horror by the box full, New Years, Valentines’ Day, even a little Fourth of July. Where was the love for Turkey Day? Nowhere, that’s where! Until NOW!
Oh, sure…most people thought that you couldn’t make a horror film out of a day largely devoted to being thankful, to eating yourself into a shallow coma, to football and family and everything else that comes along with it. But how hard would it have been to make the turkey come back for some payback? Even South Park tried it!
Sadly, it’ll be a while before we get this one—it’s looking for a distributor right now.
