There’s plenty of terror hottie joy from Acolytes, a film about three teens who blackmail a serial killer with predictable and murderous results. Holly Baldwin and Isabella Heathcote are just two of the terror hotties involved here, and the plot looks to be a real winner.
Blackmailing a serial killer isn’t exactly the kind of thing we see done on a regular basis. Can you imagine someone walking up to Hannibal Lecter and telling them, hey, I got a copy of your menu here, pal, and plenty of video here about your gruesome goodies—cough up some cash or we hit the police up with your copy of To Serve Man.
And yes, it really IS a cookbook.
Initial reports call Acolytes dark, hard, incredibly complex but still somehow believable, and quite possibly one of the best films that the Toronto International Film Festival had to offer. Hopefully we’ll be able to get our hands on this complex thriller soon—it’s been making the film festival circuit for quite some time now.
