Tilda Swindon Joins Vampire Terror Hottie Cast Of Only Lovers Left Alive

Me and vampire movies have never exactly gotten along, but one thing it’s impossible to deny is that vampire movies often pack in some pretty impressive terror hottie counts, and that’s just what we’ll get with Only Lovers Left Alive.

Featuring Tilda Swinton, and Mia Wasikowska, Only Lovers Left Alive follows a pair of vampires who’ve been in love for centuries. And naturally, their love is scarcely an easy thing, even more so when you’re sucking plasma for all eternity.

They’re not even going to start shooting this one until later in the year, so chances are, you’re not going to see this one until at the very least late in 2013. But still, putting Tilda Swinton in a vampire role, well, that’s no mean thing. And hopefully we’ll get to see how this turns out sooner rather than later, so keep it right here for all the latest news on what just might be one of the most impressive vampire movies you’ll see lately.

Oldboy Gets Another Delay, Not Related To Mia Wasikowska

Oldboy, featuring terror hottie Mia Wasikowska, is getting another delay in its release, and this time it’s a matter of other commitments on the part of one of the actors, Josh Brolin.

Oldboy follows a man who gets kidnapped on his daughter’s birthday, and remains in captivity for fifteen years. Then, one day, he’s set free, and when he is, the only thought on his mind is revenge. And there’s fifteen years worth of payback coming their way.

The problem is that our Oldboy is having some trouble getting on set, as he’s neck deep in press commitments via Men In Black 3, which he’s also in on. And so while he’s out meeting the press, he can’t be on set shooting Oldboy. Now, the premiere is set to hit somewhere in the third quarter, described as late summer to early fall.

Still though, it should be well worth the wait, in the end, and hopefully, we’ll get to see this one before the end of 2012. Keep it here for all the latest!

Oldboy Remake Gets A Terror Hottie Punch

We haven’t given you a lot of information about the upcoming Oldboy remake, mostly because we haven’t had a lot of reason to give you any. There just hasn’t been much of a terror hottie connection…until now. And turns out an offer has been made for the role of Marie, to none other than Mia Wasikowska, formerly of Alice in Wonderland, among others.

Oldboy follows the story of a man who’s been imprisoned for years. Though just why, he has no idea. And when he finds himself suddenly released, the first thing on his mind is payback. Payback on the man who kept him imprisoned for all that time. But payback isn’t going to be quite as easy to get as he’d hoped.

The early word on this one suggests they’re going to start shooting this one early in 2012, so hopefully the offers will get picked up and we’ll see Mia Wasikowska in Oldboy. Personally, I think she’d do a nice job of things here, as she made a top-notch Alice, among other things, so hopefully she can keep it up, assuming she gets in.

Pride And Prejudice And Zombies Rolls Out The Red Carpet For Their Female Lead

Good news for those of you looking forward to Pride And Prejudice And Zombies–they’ve just extended the female lead role to no less than Blake Lively. Will she take it? No one’s quite sure yet, but either way, it’s going to provide at least one prime terror hottie slot to someone.

Interestingly, the chair has already been pulled out for several others, but no one would sit down: Emma Stone, Mia Wasikowska, Scarlett Johannson, even Natalie Portman–who’s already a producer on this one–all have been mentioned, but none of them is taking the job.

Pride And Prejudice And Zombies is pretty much exactly what the title suggests, the standard Pride And Prejudice plotline with Elizabeth Bennet looking for love. And that all sort of gets derailed when a zombie apocalypse gets fired up.

We don’t often see this sort of thing, so I hope it gets pulled off finally. But no one’s heard much about release dates or shooting starts, so keep it right here for all the latest.

Stoker Begins Shooting Today In Nashville

The terror hottie laden production of Stoker, featuring Mia Wasikowska and Nicole Kidman, among others, has begun shooting out in Nashville, so it’s officially only a matter of time until we get to see how this one comes out.

Stoker follows the surviving relatives of a man who recently died in a car accident. Things are pretty bad for them under normal circumstances, but things don’t get worse–nor do they get better–when the dead man’s brother arrives. Uncle Charlie, as he’s known, is bringing a lot of strange things with him, and it’s going to change the family forever.

Considering the title is “Stoker”, you can probably guess that vampires will somehow be involved, and that doesn’t surprise me in the least. It may not turn out that way, of course, but it’s a pretty fair bet. No word on release dates just yet, so keep it right here for all the latest on this–and a variety of others–right here.

Burton Finds His Alice—No, It’s Not Lindsay Lohan

Tim Burton has found his Alice for his upcoming version of Alice In Wonderland for Disney. The actress comes from Australia and has been in quite a few films herself coming out soon, Mia Wasikowska. Burton is the perfect guy to helm this film because he is probably the only man alive who has an imagination even close to Lewis Carroll.

According to THR, the film, based on a script by Linda Woolverton (“The Lion King”), will be produced by longtime Burton collaborator Richard Zanuck, former Disney chairman Joe Roth and Jennifer and Suzanne Todd. It will be shot with live-action and performance-capture footage and presented in Disney Digital 3-D. Disney creative executive Jason Reed will oversee the project, set to begin principal photography in November.

Well, I have to admit that I’m a little sad it’s not, frankly.  Lindsay Lohan as Alice in Alice in Wonderland would’ve been an absolute thrill.  She wouldn’t even NEED a green screen to display the kind of on-screen freakishness that the original Carroll text put out.  No, Tim Burton’s going to be going with Mia Wasikowska on this one, a veteran of several Australian films.  Presented in full-on Disney Digital 3-D and ready to start shooting this November, you have to wonder just what’s going to come out of this one.

Tim Burton established a reputation early on for being dark and freaky, and definitely, Alice in Wonderland can be dark and freaky.  Just look at American McGee if you don’t believe me on that one.  But at the same time, this is Disney.  Disney generally doesn’t do dark and freaky very well, because it’s virtually sold its soul into targeting families and those with small children.

So what are we going to get at the end of this?  There’ll only be one way to find out, and that won’t come for some time yet.
