A Whole Bunch of Great News From William Malone

William Malone has been very, very busy, folks, prepping up three different titles on our way, and we actually know something about one of them so far. It’s called Parasomnia, and it recently premiered at the Screamfest Horror Film Festival.

Both Kathryn Leigh and Cherilyn Wilson serve as terror hotties on this run, in which a young art student falls in love with a sleeping beauty, but discovers entirely too late that she’s got a deadly secret.
Now that by itself is definitely some interesting stuff, but Malone has also recently revealed that he’s got three different films in the hopper right now, and this only possibly includes Parasomnia. Also on tap are what he describes as “another very dark horror title”, a “wacked-out horror tale”, and a “big-budget sci-fi epic”. Now, it’s totally up in the air at this point whether Paransomnia is any of these or there’s a fourth in the works, but one thing’s clear—we may well be getting some more choice Dark Castle films in the future, a development that makes me all kinds of happy.

Masters of Horror Meet Hotties of Terror

(Cherilyn Wilson)

Cherilyn Wilson and Kathryn Leigh team up with the absolutely badass Jeffrey Combs to bring us a new one from genuine master of horror William Malone, Parasomnia.

Interestingly enough, it’s a horror / romance, something William Malone is already experienced in from his Masters of Horror title The Fair Haired Child.  Basically, an art student falls in love with a heavy sleeper with a deadly secret, something that the art student finds out much too late to actually, you know, do anything about.

At this point, all I can say is that it really doesn’t sound like anything I’ve already seen, which is a huge triumphant step forward for this movie.  Seriously, if I can say that it doesn’t sound familiar, it’s a good bet that it’s going to be at least kind of unique, and kind of unique these days is worth taking a chance on.

And if The Fair Haired Child is any indication, we could be in for a real thriller here, one that I’m abundantly looking forward to when it drops sometime in 2008, according to the IMDB.
