You know, I’m really starting to get to love the whole YouTube thing, not just for legions of cheap laughs and a whole slew of WTF moments, but because it gives me access to a hitherto unheard-of level of sheer terror hottie joy.
The Snakes on a Plane phenomenon may be somewhat dead—and I know that seems like one hell of a non-sequitur given what I just finished saying, but believe me, there’s a point to all this—but keeping it alive as part of the Blanks on a Blank film festival is the Parallelogramophonograph improv theatre group, who offered up their own version, Tarantulas on a Hovercraft. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B-o-A9sL2Y8)
Performed like an early twenties silent film complete with text placards and wild overacting, it’s exactly what it sounds like: tarantulas loose on a hovercraft.
But while this is interesting enough, the part that should mean something to you is little known terror hottie Kaci Beeler, who if she ever reads this will probably be amazed to discover that she is, in fact, a terror hottie. Leaving aside the fact that yes, indeed, she looks like Clara Bow, Kaci Beeler manages to convey utterly without words that she is being menaced by giant tarantulas and she’s not very happy about it at all.
Horror casting directors, keep your eyes front for Kaci Beeler, who could no doubt handle terror hottie roles that involve actual lines just as readily.
