Smash Cut Has Terror Hotties, If Nothing Else

(Sasha Grey)

Check out the synopsis I found on the IMDB for upcoming horror flick Smash Cut, featuring terror hotties like Sasha Grey and Meghanne Kessels:

After his latest film is met with horrible reviews, Able Whitman sets out to prove the critics wrong by finding inspiration in his cast and crew. Sometimes great art requires great sacrifice- and the director always gets final cut!

You know, considering that the writer AND the director both handled such clearly…amazing…work as “Jesus Christ Vampire Hunter” and the “Harry Knuckles” series, I get the feeling that they’re already used to critics throwing horrible reviews at them.  I’ll bet that Smash Cut even has QUOTES from some of them.  It never fails to make me chuckle at how thin-skinned some directors and writers can be.  They just can’t take a solid review!

But still, it might be interesting to see, so I’m looking forward to Smash Cut, which is currently in post-production.

Horror is the Inevitable Refuge of the Former Porn Star

Seems like the inevitable refuge of the porn star who wants to go legitimate is horror, and this has given us some interesting casting choices over the years.  New to the list–and newfound terror hottie!–is porn star Sasha Grey, who won the female performer of the year award for the Adult Video Network’s 2008 awards and was involved in better than eighty porn flicks.

She’ll be starring in “Smash Cut”, where she’ll be a TV news personality gone undercover as–surprise, surprise!–an ACTRESS in a horror film to find the killer of her older sister, who was a stripper.

Lee Demarbre, who directed “Smash Cut” insists almost to the point of derangement that there will be no nudity or sex and that Grey will remain fully clothed throughout.  Making an attempt at wit, he remarked that “the only penetration is by knives and axes”.

Ha ha. Ha.  Ha ha.  That’s horrifying, Demarbre, but whatever gets you through the night, I suppose.

Demarbre’s hopes for “Smash Cut” are to put it on the festival circuit and wrangle it theatrical release for sometime in 2009.  Not a chance in hell, says I–look for this sucker to go direct to video.
